Strengthening Regional Healthcare Through Dialogue: Azista Bhutan Meets SAARC Development Team

In a key moment for regional collaboration, Mr. Obula Reddy, CEO of Azista Bhutan Healthcare, met with prominent members of the SAARC Development Team to discuss the evolving role of local pharmaceutical manufacturing in South Asia's healthcare landscape.

During the interaction, Mr. Reddy had a productive discussion with Ms. Irosha Cooray, Officer-In-Charge of the SAARC Development Fund and Director, ARD at the SAARC Secretariat. They spoke about the critical importance of Azista Bhutan’s pharmaceutical plant and its potential to supply essential cancer care products to the region. Ms. Cooray’s positive response and encouragement toward strengthening the pharmaceutical sector across SAARC nations marked a promising step forward.

Mr. Reddy also extended his sincere thanks to Mr. Jigme Thinley, Assistant Director - Economic & Infrastructure, for facilitating the conversation, and acknowledged the presence of Ms. Phuntsho Choden, Manager - Communication & Knowledge Management, and Ms. Yamuna Dulal, Executive Secretary to the CEO, who added valuable perspectives to the engagement.
